Job Description
Project Engineer / APM
- Heavy Civil
- Chicago area A well established, employee owned heavy civil contractor is seeking a Project Engineer or Assistant Project Manager to support transportation infrastructure projects throughout the Chicago region.
- Assist in managing construction activities for DOT, rail and structural projects. Review plans and technical documents
- Prepare and review plans, calculations, specifications and estimates. Coordinate with project teams
- Work closely with project managers, field teams, clients and design partners. Support schedules and budgets
- Assist with schedules, budgets, procurement and resource planning. Participate in inspections and rehabilitation work
- Support inspections, rehabilitation activities and load rating tasks when applicable. Ensure compliance
- Maintain adherence to project requirements, standards and specifications. Provide technical support
- Assist junior staff and contribute to proposal preparation as needed. Qualifications Civil Engineering or Construction Management degree required. 4 to 5 years of structural or transportation experience in bridge, rail, transit or transportation structures. PE license or ability to obtain
- PE preferred or ability to obtain within one to two years. Strong communication and coordination skills
- Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
