Job Description

Metal Fabrication Project Engineer

Reports To:
Ryan Weinzapfel, Engineering Manager As Metal Fabrication Project Engineer, you will work directly with our customer base and members of our Business Development Team to provide metal fabricated solutions that meet customer needs and specifications throughout the entire project lifecycle. By working closely with the customer and other team members, you will obtain the necessary information to create three-dimensional concept models to ensure that all requirements have been achieved. Once an order has been received, you will generate detailed fabrication drawings. Our ideal candidate will Travel to customer sites and communicate effectively with customers to provide design assistance and obtain information and measurements for the development of designs, estimates and drawings for fabrication projects Review concept designs (hand sketches and notes) from the Business Development Team and/or customers to create three-dimensional concept models for customer review Create detailed metal fabrication drawings from customer approved designs with complete bill of materials Manage all customer and Nix operational needs for all assigned projects Work directly with customers throughout the design phase of assigned projects. Read, understand and interpret job bid instructions, construction documents, blueprints and detailed specifications Work with Project Designers to create 3D models of design concepts to provide to the customer for review and approval Perform all other duties as assigned and required Follow all company and common-sense safety policies, while using all required personal protective equipment, when necessary Contribute to our team environment by anticipating the needs of co-workers, bringing a positive attitude into our culture and showing an eagerness to discover and share new opportunities for our organization Desired Qualifications Degree in Engineering is preferred but not required in lieu of industry experience Experience in CAD Design (SolidWorks) Experience with Faro 3D scanning is preferred but not required Knowledge of steel components and properties Ability to read design drawings required Organized with extreme attention to detail Ability to excel in a fast-paced and competitive environment Health Plans | Paid Holidays | Paid Time Off | 401K | Life Insurance | Structured Bonus Plans
