Stress Engineer Job Description We are seeking a highly skilled Stress Engineer to contribute to the development of structural load paths for early conceptual designs. This role requires a keen understanding of both metallic and composite structures and the ability to execute trade studies to determine the most efficient design solutions. Responsibilities Develop structural load paths for early conceptual designs to meet high-level requirements. Apply first principle approaches with a strong understanding of metallic and composite structures. Conduct trade studies to evaluate various design solutions and select the most weight-efficient concepts. Collaborate effectively in an Integrated Product Team (IPT) environment, working closely with design, fabrication, assembly, and other key functions. Essential Skills Proficiency in Catia and stress analysis. Experience with structural analysis and finite element analysis (FEM). 6-8 years of experience preferred, with consideration for candidates with 2-5 years. Strong understanding of composites. Experience with ENOVIA and recent work on business/commercial structures, specifically nacelle/copmosite structures. Bachelor's degree in engineering is strongly preferred. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with conceptual design first principles analysis for primary composite structures. Knowledge of composite structures failure modes and associated analysis methodologies. Ability to create, manage, and run Global Finite Element Models (GFEM) and Detail Finite Element Models (DFEM). Experience in commercial OEM or business jets (e.g., Gulfstream, Embraer, Bombardier, Cessna, Airbus) or Spirit experience is beneficial. Experience in aerospace, mechanical engineering, and composites is advantageous. Work Environment The position requires onsite work at the manufacturing facility from Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. This is a long-term 12-month contract supporting defense programs for an aerospace client. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Wichita, KS. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $80.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
