Job Title:
Structural Engineer Job Description This role is for an experienced Structural Engineer based in Houston, Texas, responsible for the complete design of complex civil and structural engineering assignments within the oil, gas, refinery, and petrochemical sectors. The position requires extensive progressive experience, advanced engineering analysis, and strong proficiency with CAD tools such as CADWorx, AutoCAD, and Revit to deliver safe, efficient, and compliant structural designs. Responsibilities Perform all aspects of the complete design for complex civil and structural engineering projects in oil, gas, refinery, and petrochemical environments. Apply advanced civil and structural engineering techniques, calculations, and analysis to develop safe and efficient structural solutions. Develop, review, and modify detailed structural designs, including foundations and supporting structures, using CADWorx, AutoCAD, and Revit. Prepare and check engineering drawings, models, and documentation to ensure accuracy, constructability, and adherence to applicable codes and standards. Conduct structural analysis to verify the integrity and performance of designs under various loading and operating conditions. Coordinate with civil engineering and other disciplines to integrate structural designs into overall project layouts and deliverables. Identify and resolve technical issues related to structural design, analysis, and detailing throughout the project lifecycle. Ensure that all structural engineering work complies with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and project specifications. Contribute to continuous improvement by applying lessons learned and best practices in civil and structural engineering. Support project teams with technical guidance and expertise in structural engineering tools, methods, and design practices. Essential Skills 10 to 15 years of relevant industrial experience in civil and structural engineering. Professional Engineering (PE) registration. Strong proficiency with CADWorx for structural and civil design. Proficiency with AutoCAD for structural drafting and detailing. Proficiency with Revit for structural modeling and coordination. Demonstrated experience in structural design and structural analysis. Extensive experience in oil and gas, refinery, and petrochemical projects. Strong background in civil engineering and structural engineering principles. Ability to perform advanced engineering techniques and analysis for complex structural assignments. Proven ability to deliver complete structural design packages for industrial projects. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience designing structural foundations for industrial facilities. background in both civil and structural aspects of industrial projects. Familiarity with industry standards and codes applicable to oil, gas, refinery, and petrochemical structures. Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary engineering teams. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality engineering deliverables. Effective communication skills for documenting and presenting engineering work. Work Environment This position is based in an office environment with a standard schedule of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The role involves extensive use of CADWorx, AutoCAD, and Revit, as well as other typical engineering software and office tools, to produce and review structural design and analysis deliverables. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Baton Rouge, LA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $80.00 - $90.00/hr.
