We are looking to bring on a Co-Op to serve as a Civil/Geotechnical Engineering Technician assisting office engineers and project managers with day-to-day project tasks. This is a full-time role that will be 4-6 consecutive months beginning Summer 2026.

the start date is flexible depending on your school's co-op program. This is a fantastic opportunity to get some hands-on, working field experience and be a valuable contributor to our project teams. This role will be based out of our Boston, MA office location.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
In this position, you will : Assist with maintaining on-site health and safety expectations. Serve in a field support role, working on interesting and technically challenging construction projects. Field activities may include construction observation, sampling of soil or groundwater, in-situ density testing, and observation of earthwork activities. Express a willingness to visit construction sites to assist in the field with our construction monitoring service group. Assist engineers and Project Managers with the planning and execution of site characterization, subsurface investigation, and construction of various infrastructure and real estate development projects. Communicate with the project team and prepare field reports. Review design drawings, specifications, and geotechnical/environmental reports. Assist with evaluation of subsurface geotechnical and environmental data. Assist with collection of instrumentation data.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
Minimum Skills and Requirements:
Candidate should be at least 2 years into their academic career. Candidate should be enrolled in a civil, geotechnical, or environmental engineering educational program (undergraduate or graduate). Demonstrate initiative and a willingness to learn. Be a collaborative team player with excellent communication skills. Computer Skills - Strong computer literacy skills including proficiency in all MS Office software. Valid driver's license highly preferred. Ability to work for 3 or more consecutive months on a full-time basis. This position will require travel to job sites within the Greater Boston area and working outside of the office 90% of the time. The position will include field sampling, lifting and transporting up to 50lbs of field equipment unassisted, bending, walking on uneven ground, working on large construction/industrial sites, working in the elements (following our Health & Safety guidelines), and use of personal-protective equipment (PPE). Schedule includes early mornings, depending on project requirements. The salary range for this position in Boston , MA is $23.00 - $26.00 per hour. Actual compensation will be based upon a variety of factors such as education, related work experience, certificates, skills, and current market conditions.
