40.0 Responsibilities Serve as Resident Field Engineer for sewer rehabilitation projects, providing technical support, reviewing drawings, RFIs, and coordinating with contractors in the field. Review and interpret design drawings and specifications, ensure compliance with safety and quality standards, and provide solutions and direction to subcontractors and field personnel. Coordinate effectively with design engineering teams to determine necessary modifications and support construction planning activities. Monitor subcontractor activities for adherence to technical requirements and project schedules, maintain detailed site logs, and oversee quantity take-offs and progress payments. Assist in inspections, testing verification, and ensuring compliance with project safety and quality protocols. Manage communications through Contractor Information Requests (CIRs), maintain construction records, and support change management efforts. Supervise discipline engineers, craft personnel, vendors, and general foremen, providing work direction as needed, serving as a "lead person". Requirements 2-6 years of minimum construction management and/or design experience in facility construction, preferably with linear water rehabilitation or sewer projects. Must have a BS in engineering; Civil Engineering preferred. Knowledge of project scheduling, cost control, engineering drawings, and material takeoffs. Strong organizational and communication skills, with familiarity in safety regulations and contract administration. PE license is highly preferred but not required. Experience with discipline engineering, supervisory roles, and field estimates is advantageous.
