Job Description

GCG Associates is seeking a motivated Entry-Level Civil Engineer immediately to join our growing team in Wilmington, Massachusetts. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career engineer who is interested in gaining hands-on experience in a wide variety of civil engineering projects. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work both in the office and in the field, assisting with engineering design, land surveying, construction observation, and project coordination. Projects are located throughout Massachusetts and include roadway, water, sewer, drainage, and site development improvements for public and private clients. At GCG Associates, you will work alongside experienced engineers and surveyors who are committed to mentoring and supporting your professional development.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist with the preparation of engineering plans, specifications, calculations, and reports. Support the design of roadway, water, sewer, drainage, and site development projects. Participate in field investigations, construction observation, and project documentation. Assist with land surveying activities, including data collection and field measurements. Prepare technical reports, exhibits, and permit application materials. Coordinate with project managers, engineers, surveyors, contractors, and clients. Support project teams in meeting schedules, budgets, and client deliverables. Travel to project sites throughout Massachusetts as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or related field. 0-2 years of civil engineering experience Strong interest in civil engineering design, construction, and field work. Basic understanding of engineering principles and construction practices. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Valid driver's license. Preferred Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain within one year. Internship, co-op, or prior experience in civil engineering, surveying, or construction. Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D. Familiarity with survey equipment, GPS units, total stations, or data collectors.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to use basic hand tools. Ability to traverse rough, uneven, or rocky terrain. Ability to lift and carry objects up to 40 pounds. Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during field assignments.
