Job Description

Overview Utility Systems Construction & Engineering is over 30‑year‑old "dry utility" consultant and utility construction company. We specialize in providing design and engineering services throughout the Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia region, for both commercial, residential and government projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting the project manager and project team with project documentation and control, design (temporary and permanent services, relocations, undergrounding, public and private streetlights, traffic signals, etc.), scheduling, and construction supervision efforts (cost estimates, public space permits, Miss Utility markings, RFIs, change orders, updated plans comparison, etc.). In order to be successful, this candidate should feel comfortable taking on many tasks that require various skills and appropriately prioritizing those tasks' completion. No remote work. The interview and the position will take place onsite. We are hiring for multiple candidates. Responsibilities Review civil, architectural, structural, landscaping, and MEP plans to include in the dry utility design. Provide your own drafting for all the dry utility design assignments. Prepare feasibility studies, construction plans, and reports for all dry utility designs. Request, follow up and obtain all required information from the utility companies to complete and get approved the dry utility design. Exchange and update information with the design team working on the project. Review construction documents to prepare cost estimates and construction proposals. Prepare Traffic Control Plans (TCP), get Miss Utility markings, applied for public space permits. Prepare documentation packages for our field crews, assist on material orders and specs. Communicate constantly with our clients, supervisors and peers, members of the design team for your projects, utility company designers, our constructions crews, etc. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience 1 - 3 years of experience as a project coordinator, project engineer, or project manager Strong experience in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite Familiarity with rules, regulations, best practices, and performance standards
Pay:
$60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
