Job Description
Job Description A dynamic opportunity awaits a skilled Project Engineer to join a design-build construction team, assisting superintendents and project managers with commercial projects. The role involves working closely with various project teams to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. The position involves handling multiple projects simultaneously, including municipal, industrial, and storage unit ventures. Responsibilities Maintain and update project drawings, specifications, and documentation. Administer submittal process, including identifying required submittals by spec and drawing, collecting, logging, reviewing, and submitting or approving as necessary. Assist in developing project schedules. Help in creating proposals. Coordinate and communicate effectively with subcontractors and the project team. Develop and manage comprehensive project schedules. Monitor field progress and ensure quality standards are met. Assist with cost control, change orders, and project closeout procedures. Enforce safety standards and maintain required certifications. Essential Skills Minimum 2 years of experience as a Project Engineer or similar role in commercial construction projects. Strong understanding of construction documents, drawings, and technical specifications. Experience with project scheduling or project management software, such as Microsoft Project. Knowledge of construction means, methods, and materials. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred). Experience with construction scheduling, quantity takeoffs, change orders, and subcontractor management. Ability to perform quantity takeoff. Experience in preparing change orders, budgets, and subcontractor purchase orders may lead to a consideration for an Assistant Project Manager role. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Brighton, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $85000.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
