- 6078 Project Engineer Build Your Career in Construction Project Management We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Project Engineer to join our growing team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in the construction industry while gaining hands-on experience supporting multiple projects from kickoff through completion. In this role, you will work closely with Project Managers, field teams, subcontractors, vendors, and clients to help keep projects organized, on schedule, and on budget. You'll gain exposure to project planning, change order management, scheduling, documentation, and construction operations while developing the skills needed to advance into future leadership roles. What You'll Do Project Administration & Documentation Organize and maintain project files, contracts, permits, submittals, and project records. Verify required documentation is complete prior to project startup. Assist with document control and ensure project information remains accurate and up to date. Support project closeout activities including warranties, as-built documentation, and final records. Scheduling & Coordination Assist Project Managers with maintaining project schedules and milestone tracking. Coordinate meetings and communicate project updates with internal and external stakeholders. Support daily coordination with field crews, subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors. Help manage activities across 10-15 active projects simultaneously. Communication & Reporting Serve as a key point of communication between project teams and clients. Prepare project updates, meeting notes, and status reports. Review and process daily change orders. Review daily timecards and assist with project reporting requirements. Financial & Cost Tracking Assist with invoice preparation and processing. Track project expenditures, change orders, and budget impacts. Maintain work-in-progress (WIP) and backlog reports for leadership review. Quality, Safety & Compliance Support inspections, testing, and project compliance documentation. Identify project risks and communicate concerns to project leadership. Promote adherence to safety standards, quality expectations, and company procedures. What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred. Entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply. Prior experience in construction, civil construction, asphalt, paving, or project coordination is a plus. Ability to read and interpret civil construction plans is helpful but not required—we can teach the right candidate. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Outlook. Experience with Microsoft Project is a plus. Comfortable learning new project management and document control platforms as required by project owners and general contractors. Self-motivated, dependable, and eager to build a long-term career in construction. Work Environment & Schedule Typical hours are Monday through Friday, approximately 7:30 AM
Additional hours may be required based on project needs. Occasional Saturday work may be required. Candidates should be comfortable working 50-60 hours per week during peak project activity.
Compensation & Benefits Salary:
$45,000
- 60,000 annually, depending on education and experience. Performance-based annual bonus opportunity of approximately $5,000
- 15,000.
