Project Scope:

None Required. The Opportunity You will play a vital role in the technical success of large-scale civil projects, bridging the gap between field operations and project management. This position offers a direct path to leadership within a stable, third-generation family business that treats its team members like family while working on high-profile Michigan infrastructure. How You Will Make an Impact Support the end-to-end project lifecycle by coordinating planning, scheduling, and critical start-up and close-out activities. Administer essential project documentation including change orders, pay estimates, and detailed quantity reports. Monitor real-time project progress to identify and resolve technical issues promptly before they impact the timeline. Assist in managing project budgets and cost controls to ensure all infrastructure builds remain financially viable. Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure material deliveries and specialized labor align with site needs. Occasional site visits as projects need. Communicate significant project events, such as potential claims or safety issues, to management to ensure rapid response. Strengthen customer and owner relationships by resolving payment and quantity discrepancies with accuracy and professionalism. Required Qualifications & Experience Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management; equivalent experience will be considered. Ability to manage and prioritize tasks across multiple concurrent civil construction projects. Strong leadership capabilities with a proven track record of working effectively in a team environment. Excellent oral and written communication skills for professional reporting and document management. Must possess a valid Driver's License. Preferred Qualifications & Experience 2 or more years of experience in civil construction or heavy highway engineering. Proficiency with HCSS Heavy Bid, HCSS Heavy Job, and Microsoft Project. Technical experience with AGTEK software for earthwork and quantity takeoff is a significant plus. Prior experience working with MDOT specifications and reporting requirements.
