Body Structures Engineer II Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. (HATCI) is looking for an Engineer II to join the MPV (Multi-purpose Vehicle)/Truck/Small Structures Team of the Structures Engineering Design Department, who would support current and future product development efforts concerning upper and under-body systems
What You Will Do:
Design and develop body structure or frame components and systems for new vehicles, including Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis vehicles, with a focus on lightweight, high-strength steel and aluminum materialsConduct research and analysis to identify key design requirements and develop innovative solutions for electric vehicle platformsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure integration of body structure systems with other vehicle subsystems, including battery systems and electric powertrainsSupport supplier localization activities to include supplier visits and assessmentsSupport localization efforts concerning 2D and 3D drawing development and updatesSupport and interface with manufacturing teams and design studios for vehicle developmentDevelop and maintain engineering documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and validation reportsStudy and interpret vehicle performance and test results (e.g., FMVSS, IIHS, NVH, R&H, Body Torsional Stiffness, etc.)Create and manage a bill of materialswith updated weights at each stage of the vehicle developmentProvide technical guidance and support to other engineers and team membersParticipate in benchmarking activities to study structural strategies of competitive OEMsCommunicate and cooperate closely between North American affiliates and Korean headquartersTravel up to 20% of the time, both domestically and internationallySouth Korea:

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline3+ years of professional experience in BIW (body-in-white) design and developmentExperience meeting structural requirements concerning impact, NVH, and durabilityProficiency with CAD software (e.g., CATIA V6, NX, Solidworks, etc.)CATIA V5
experience highly preferred, but not requiredExperience using engineering tools to create and modify 2D and 3D drawingsAbility to explain technical topics to both technical and non-technical stakeholdersAdept in Microsoft programs, such as Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and WordAn ability to prepare reports/spreadsheets (when needed) to support project-related workExcellent time management, self-management, and organization skillsStrong written, oral, and interpersonal skills What Hyundai Can Offer You:
