Full Job Description Required Qualifications:
High school student
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong verbal communication skills. Ability to follow explicit directions and to quickly learn laboratory techniques General interest in academic scientific research of water quality Patience, dedication, flexibility, and enthusiasm.
Hours:
Hourly; employee cannot work for more than 67 days per calendar year.
Overview:
Provides research support in a water quality laboratory setting under the direction of Professor Paige Novak. Employees will assist a postdoctoral researcher with their research on emerging contaminant degradation. Employees will work closely with graduate students and/or post-doctoral research associates.
Job Duties:
90% Laboratory Assistant Assist post-doctoral researcher with research on emerging contaminant degradation Assist post-doctoral researcher with sample preparation Collecting samples, making solutions, keeping biological reactors going Wash glassware and other laboratory materials. 10% Adhoc duties as assigned All other duties as assigned The Department of Civil, Environmental, and Geo- Engineering resides within the College of Science & Engineering.
