Job Description

Project Engineer Plaas Incorporated Plaas Incorporated is located in Red Wing, MN with a branch office in South Sioux City, NE; we are well-established with over 50+ years of experience in Industrial Construction. We are looking for a Project Manager who will oversee mechanical piping projects from conception to completion. The Project Engineer will be responsible for keeping all projects on-time, and on budget in a safe manner. Responsibilities include but are not limited to; estimating, equipment and subcontract negotiating, purchasing, labor management, scheduling and project profitability for all Mechanical Work.
Position Summary:
The Project Engineer will play a critical role in supporting project planning, execution, and completion for our plumbing and pipefitting projects. This position requires technical expertise, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with project stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Support:
Assist project managers in planning, coordinating, and overseeing plumbing and pipefitting projects from inception to completion.
Documentation Management:
Prepare and maintain project documentation, including drawings, schedules, submittals, RFIs, and change orders.
Cost Estimation:
Support the estimation process by analyzing project specifications and collaborating with the estimating team to prepare accurate bids.
Coordination:
Work closely with field crews, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to ensure project milestones are met on time and within budget.
Material Procurement:
Assist in identifying and procuring necessary materials and equipment, ensuring timely delivery to the job site.
Quality Assurance:
Monitor project activities to ensure compliance with industry standards, company policies, and client specifications.
Safety Compliance:
Promote a culture of safety by supporting safety protocols and ensuring adherence to OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
Problem-Solving:
Address project challenges and develop effective solutions in collaboration with project managers and field teams.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). Prior experience in plumbing, pipefitting, or construction industries is preferred. Proficiency in project management software including AutoCAD and estimating software. Strong understanding of plumbing and pipefitting systems and standards. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Strong interpersonal and communication abilities. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
