Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Lead Engineer on behalf of our client, a well-established engineering firm serving communities in the Saint Cloud region. Position Summary The Lead Engineer will manage and deliver municipal engineering projects while leading a team of engineers, technicians, and support staff. This role requires independent project management, technical expertise, and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams. Key Responsibilities Provide professional engineering services including studies, planning, design, specifications, reports, construction administration, observation, and project management Lead projects from planning through design and construction phases Communicate effectively with clients, team members, and leadership, providing consistent updates on project progress Lead proposal preparation and participate in interviews to secure new work Provide direction and mentorship to engineering technicians and junior staff Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams on complex projects Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and ethical practices Participate in professional organizations and community initiatives as appropriate Travel and occasional overnight stays may be required; overtime may occur during peak construction season Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (Master's degree preferred) Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or ability to obtain within 6-12 months Minimum of 7 years of municipal engineering experience Strong experience in civil design including water/wastewater systems, roadways, and drainage Proven project management and construction management experience Experience working with local, county, or state agencies is a plus Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation/GeoPak, GIS, or similar tools preferred
Compensation & Benefits Base Salary:
