Civil Engineer Advanced Technical Specialist - (OH1087) Position Description Civil Engineer Advanced Technical Specialist - Woodbury, MN Are you a driven civil engineer with a passion for shaping communities through impactful infrastructure design? AE2S is looking for a senior level Civil Engineer to be the Advanced Technical Specialist on civil projects. This is an opportunity to build and expand a team, develop and foster client relationships, and make your mark on project solutions that improve how communities live, work, and grow. This role provides advanced civil technical oversight on complex projects and supports project teams through technical leadership, project delivery, mentorship, quality oversight, and problem-solving. Provides key technical support to business development efforts by helping identify opportunities for civil infrastructure work, shaping pursuit strategies through technical insight, and supporting proposals and client discussions to secure civil engineering services. Responsibilities Provide advanced civil engineering expertise and project management leadership for complex infrastructure projects. Support business development through technical input peer review, client engagements, proposals, and interview as a subject matter expert drive local and regional growth aligned with AE2S's strategic goals. Serve as a technical leader and trusted advisor, applying advanced civil engineering expertise across project teams and disciplines Design and oversee civil design, ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements on highly complex projects Conduct research and feasibility evaluations for new civil technologies and applications and provide recommendations to project teams and leadership Lead large scale civil design projects, including project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and performance monitoring Provide technical oversight and guidance for quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) for civil designs, drawings, and specifications Mentor, guide, and oversee the work of civil engineers and technical staff to ensure successful project delivery Collaborate across disciplines and with external subconsultants to deliver integrated, high quality solutions and resolve complex technical challenges Manage client relationships, proposal development, and identification and pursuit of new civil project opportunities Coordinate and participate in internal and external meetings with clients, stakeholders, and project teams Qualifications Basic Requirements Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution. Active Professional Engineer (PE) license, multi-state licensure preferred or and the ability to obtain licensure within multiple states. Minimum of 15 years of progressively responsible civil engineering experience. In-depth understanding of civil engineering principles, building codes, and environmental regulations. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information clearly to clients and team members and develop technical documents from scratch. Demonstrated ability to manage projects effectively, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation. Ability to travel as required. All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations. Preferred Qualifications Project management experience. Scope and fee development specific to civil engineering projects Physical Requirements Ability to walk up to 3-miles on uneven terrain Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time Occasionally climb, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist Occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull light to moderate amounts of weight May require lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds, with rare lifting of up to 50 pounds Ability to inspect equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects. Anticipated Starting Salary:
