St Louis | Lead Bridge Engineer

We are partnering with a well-established engineering firm seeking a Lead Bridge Engineer to support a strong backlog of transportation and bridge projects in the St. Louis market. This role offers the opportunity to lead the design and rehabilitation of highway and railroad bridges, culverts, and pedestrian structures while mentoring junior engineers and influencing technical direction. You'll stay hands-on with engineering while stepping into a visible leadership role. What You'd Be Doing Lead the analysis, design, and rehabilitation of bridge and transportation structures, including highway and railroad overpasses, culverts, and pedestrian bridges Deliver projects from concept through final design, plans, and construction support Prepare and review calculations, specifications, reports, and plan sets Own project scope, schedules, and budgets while ensuring technical quality and client expectations are met Perform QA/QC reviews to ensure accuracy, safety, and constructability Establish and refine structural design standards and best practices Mentor and support junior engineers and CAD staff Support proposals, client relationships, and ongoing project pursuits What They're Looking For PE license (required) ~8+ years of bridge or structural engineering experience Experience delivering bridge projects from concept through final design Familiarity with tools such as OpenBridge, STAAD, MIDAS, MDX, or similar Get job alerts Share Copied to clipboard Related roles Transportation Planning Manager (Traffic Engineering)
