Bridge Engineer

Our client, a national, multidisciplined engineering firm, is seeking a Bridge Engineer to join their North Carolina team, with flexibility to be based in Raleigh, Charlotte, Winston‑Salem, or Greensboro. This is an excellent opportunity for a structural engineer with a strong bridge design background who is passionate about delivering technically complex infrastructure projects and growing within a collaborative, design‑focused environment. This individual will be a pivotal hire with growth into a project manager or technical lead role.

The Bridge Engineer will be responsible for:

• Performing structural analysis and design for new and existing bridge structures
• Developing bridge plans, details, calculations, and specifications from preliminary through final design
• Designing concrete and steel bridge elements in accordance with AASHTO and DOT standards
• Supporting bridge rehabilitation, replacement, and widening projects
• Preparing load ratings and structural evaluations for existing bridges
• Coordinating closely with roadway, geotechnical, hydraulic, and construction teams
• Assisting with QA/QC reviews and constructability considerations
• Supporting junior engineers through technical guidance and mentorshipThe ideal candidate will have:
• 4+ years of experience in structural or bridge engineering
• Hands‑on experience with DOT bridge design projects (NCDOT preferred)
• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master's preferred, optional)
• EIT or PE license (or ability to obtain)
• Experience using OpenBridge, OpenRoads, CSI Bridge, or MicroStation
• Strong understanding of AASHTO bridge design standards
