Job Description

Job description A prominent construction firm is seeking to hire a Commissioning Engineer to facilitate the execution of large mission-critical/data center constructions. This role involves overseeing the commissioning process from preparation to turnover, collaborating with project leadership, trade professionals, vendors, and client teams to maintain project schedules and ensure systems operate as intended.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage mechanical and electrical commissioning execution, including pre-functional checklists, functional testing, integrated testing support, and turnover documentation. Coordinate with electrical and mechanical trades, building automation systems (BAS), testing, adjusting, and balancing (TAB) professionals, equipment vendors, and various project teams. Monitor deficiencies and punch list items, oversee retesting processes, and finalize documentation. Uphold safety, quality, and schedule adherence during the later stages of construction and turnover.
Requirements:
Must have hyperscale data center experience taking a project from L1-L5 Proven commissioning experience in mission-critical/data centers or other similarly complex industrial projects. Strong background in power and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems, with expertise in medium voltage (MV), switchgear, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), generators, and BAS being advantageous. Proficient in onsite work environments, capable of navigating fast-paced schedules while coordinating with multiple stakeholders. Excellent documentation and communication skills.
Details:
This position involves contract engagement, with travel required based on site specifications. Opportunities are available in various locations across the United States. The compensation package includes a competitive hourly rate along with per diem allowances, contingent upon the project.
