• Job Description
• As an Assistant Engineer on the Rail Structures team at Olsson, you will support a variety of routine engineering tasks that enhance your technical knowledge and familiarity with industry practices, tools, and team collaboration.

This entry-level role contributes to the development of purposeful, high-quality design solutions that address real-world engineering challenges, particularly in the railroad sector.

• Primary duties and responsibilities:
• + Assist with project design elements using standard techniques and established methods.

+ Perform entry-level plan production with clearly defined instructions. + Gain experience working within design and modeling software. + Support senior staff with project schedules and technical engineering calculations. + Contribute to limited portions of broader projects under direct supervision. + Gather and prepare research for technical reports. + Provide mentoring to student interns by answering questions and guiding routine assignments. + Travel and work in various terrain and weather conditions at project sites in different construction stages.

• + Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering + Must possess or obtain Engineer Intern certificate (EI) + Experience in MicroStation, Risa 3D analysis, and Bluebeam Revu preferred + Strong communication skills + Strong problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail + Ability to contribute and work well on a team
