Position Summary The full-time Quality Control Engineer will be responsible for managing, implementing and documenting compliance with our in-house quality control program for shop-fabricated building components. They will be responsible for managing Bensonwood's certification for third-party inspection, state modular building code support, and on-site quality testing. This position will also be responsible for maintenance and expansion of the Bensonwood Standard Detail Library, ensuring a complete feedback loop between shop Quality Control issues and improvement of related construction detailing. The ideal candidate would have a knowledge base of building codes, quality control, construction, and/or manufacturing, and will demonstrate excellent documentation and communication skills. They will also have experience with 2D drafting and 3D CAD modeling software, and reading construction documents. This position will be located full-time at a combination of our Walpole, NH and Keene, NH facilities, with some occasional travel to jobsites required. They will report to the Director of Construction Documentation.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Maintain Quality Control Manual and fulfill QC inspection and reporting duties
  • Manage certification of plant and products with third-party inspection agency, as well as inventory of QC labelling items
  • Coordinate with third-party inspection agency and state agencies for permit submission and approval
  • Perform regular QC inspections in all production shops for quality, performance, and adherence to drawings
  • Support project management, engineering and others in researching and following state modular code requirements for various states.
  • Manage the collaborative detailing process for company standards through coordination of design, engineering, and production to foster a constructive feedback loop between the teams
  • Maintain, edit, and add to the library of standard details using 2D CAD software
The Ideal Candidate Would Have:
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in an Architecture, Engineering, Manufacturing, or other construction-related field or signifcant construction experience
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Willingness and ability to inspire a culture of quality in the workplace
  • Building code knowledge
  • Building and/or manufacturing inspection experience
  • Experience in quality control, process quality assurance, or similar
  • Knowledge and experience in design, building science, residential and commercial construction
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Computer literacy with the ability to work in Microsoft, Google and PDF applications
  • CAD software experience Additional Attributes for Success
