The ideal Building Engineer candidate will be a member/or become a new member of the local union and should have experience in providing building maintenance with experience in carpentry, electrical and HVAC trades. Experience operating snow plows, forklift, front loaders, and ,an lifts is preferred.
BUILDING ENGINEER GSH
is currently hiring a Building Engineer, who will be responsible for the day-to-day engineering operations for the facilities HVAC systems. The Building Engineer will work closely with building management and other team members to deliver services, assist on-site GSH's engineers and strive to maintain maximum up time for HVAC systems. The Building Engineer will liaise with the client on specific capital improvements and upgrades to produce cost savings, carry out energy reductions, green practices, and sustainability items as per client's direction.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Operate, monitor, and maintain in good working order and condition all boilers, heaters pumps, valves, appurtenances and lines used in the distribution of steam and heated or processed water.
  • Operate, monitor, and maintain in good working order and condition refrigerant compressors, condensers, evaporators, traps, transfer pumps, expansion valves, stop valves and float valves, together with all refrigerant lines and devices used to control temperature, and air conditioning systems in their entirety, including the use of approved recovery equipment and processes to comply with the law.
  • Operate, monitor, and maintain in good working order and condition pumps handling brines or other secondary refrigerating liquids, including water, together with all valves, appurtenances and lines used in the system.
  • Operate, monitor, and maintain in good working order and condition air compressors, together with distribution lines and all valves and devices for air control, including air dryer and filtering and separating systems.
  • Operate, monitor, and maintain in good working order and condition, sinks, water closets, urinals, and restroom fixtures.
  • Operate, monitor, and maintain in good working order and condition all types of electrical motors and engines used to power pumps, compressors, fans and variable frequency drives (VFD's).
  • Liaise with Building Management to assist with access for electrical power distribution and auxiliaries for the building's lighting, mechanical, plumbing and control components.
  • Operation, maintenance and repair of building automation systems for HVAC, lighting and other controlled mediums, including consoles, data gathering panels, remote sensors and indicating devices.
  • Inventory control for parts and materials required to perform such maintenance and repairs to the building systems.
  • Equipment room maintenance and repairs to maintain the physical condition and appearance of these rooms and equipment located within them.
  • Maintain proper HVAC operation during seasonal changes.
  • Any services requested that materially differ from those listed above shall be deemed to be outside of the scope of Services ("Non-Materially Different Additional Services").
