Position SummaryThe Construction Engineer is responsible for performing routine construction engineering assignments at Los Alamos National Laboratory. In this role, they apply a strong working knowledge of engineering practices and exercise professional judgment within established guidelines. The Construction Engineer may lead less experienced engineers or take responsibility for a specific discipline or segment of a project.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPerform routine construction engineering assignmentsApply engineering principles and professional judgment within established guidelinesSupport execution of construction projects and field activitiesProvide guidance to less experienced construction engineersLead specific segments or scopes of construction projectsSupport specialized engineering activities within a focused disciplineMaintainaccuratedocumentation and records related to job functions.
Collaborate with internal departments and external partners, as necessary.
Ensure compliance with all applicable safety standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
Promptly report unsafe conditions, equipment issues, or incidents to management.
Participate in required training sessions and safety briefings.
Perform other duties as assigned to meet operational needs.
Required QualificationsBachelors degree in engineering or scientific discipline (or equivalent)Eight (8) years of relevant experience (or combination of education and experience)Ability to handle confidential information with discretionStrong communicationand organizational skillsAbility to work through problems quickly and effectively and define a clear path to resolutionPreferred QualificationsRelevant certifications desirableWhat We OfferBGI offers a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package for eligible full-time employees, in accordance with plan documents, including:
