Role:
The Project Engineer plays a critical role in the successful planning, design, and execution of engineering projects from inception through completion. This position is responsible for ensuring that all technical aspects of projects are accurately developed, coordinated, and implemented in alignment with client requirements and industry standards. The Project Engineer will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to produce detailed engineering designs, cost estimates, and project schedules, ensuring timely delivery within budget constraints. They will also manage change orders and resolve technical issues that arise during project execution, maintaining clear communication with stakeholders. Ultimately, the Project Engineer ensures that projects meet quality, safety, and performance standards while driving continuous improvement throughout the project lifecycle.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or related field). Proven experience in project engineering or a similar role within the engineering or construction industry. Proficiency in AutoCAD and the ability to produce and interpret detailed shop drawings. Strong knowledge of project management principles and experience using Microsoft Project or equivalent software. Demonstrated ability to prepare accurate cost estimates and manage change orders effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
Professional Engineering (PE) license or equivalent certification. Experience with advanced engineering design software beyond AutoCAD. Familiarity with Lean construction principles or other process improvement methodologies. Previous experience working on large-scale or complex engineering projects. Strong communication and leadership skills with experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities:
Develop and review detailed engineering designs and shop drawings using AutoCAD and other design tools. Prepare and manage project cost estimates, budgets, and schedules using Microsoft Project and other project management software. Coordinate with internal teams, contractors, and clients to ensure seamless project execution and adherence to specifications. Manage change orders and document technical modifications, ensuring proper approvals and communication. Monitor project progress, identify potential risks or delays, and implement corrective actions to maintain project timelines and quality standards.

The Project Engineer utilizes AutoCAD daily to create and review precise engineering drawings and shop drawings that form the foundation of project execution. Engineering design skills are applied to develop innovative and compliant solutions that meet project requirements and client expectations.
