Responsibilities:

Apply engineering principles pertaining to and in support of the detailed plans and construction documents for roadways under the guidance of senior engineersDevelop drawings, technical specifications, and cost estimatesActively mentor and provide guidance to less experienced staffProgress and evaluate design details for roadway projects, including pavement condition and repair, ADA compliant sidewalk and pedestrian ramp design, signing and pavement markings, complete streets evaluations, highway alignments and profiles, and drainageUtilize MicroStation and/or AutoCAD to develop design plansInterface with other technical disciplines (Bridges/ /Signals)

Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science Civil Engineering from an accredited universityNew York State Professional Engineer (PE) is a plus8+ years of meaningful experience related to roadway engineering designSelf-motivated, detail-oriented, organized, and eager to learn and grow professionallyPrepare design criteria using relevant codes and standardsCompetent use of relevant software: MicroStation and AutoCAD, including Open Roads Design and Civil 3DPreliminary and final design plan production and construction cost estimating experienceFamiliarity with MUTCD, AASHTO, and NYSDOT / County / City StandardsGood writing and communication skills is a plus
