Job Description

Overview:
Forge Fire and Company is seeking a driven and detail-oriented PE/PE-tracking Structural CAD Engineer with hands-on experience in SolidWorks to support the design and development of advanced fire training structures and modular container-based systems. This role is critical in bringing our engineering concepts to life—transforming ideas into functional, build-ready designs used by fire departments, law enforcement, and military teams nationwide.
Responsibilities:
Produce detailed 2D/3D mechanical and structural drawings using SolidWorks . Work closely with project leads to interpret design requirements and create fully integrated system layouts. Ensure all designs adhere to applicable NFPA , building code, and engineering standards. Secure multi-state licensure by comity to act as "stamping authority" to seal drawings in different states when possible. Revise and optimize existing designs based on internal reviews or client feedback. Maintain thorough documentation of design iterations, material specs, and build references. Assist in developing manuals, cut sheets, and technical documentation. Collaborate in team design reviews and contribute to practical, field-ready solutions.
Qualifications:
4 year degree in Mechanical Engineering 4+ years of experience with SolidWorks in a mechanical or structural design capacity Ability to secure multi-state licensure by comity to act as "stamping authority" to seal drawings in different states when possible. Knowledge of mechanical principles, steel fabrication, and modular design. Ability to interpret architectural, structural, and fabrication drawings. Familiarity with CAD file version control and proper drawing documentation practices. Understanding of manufacturing processes including welding, CNC cutting, and assembly. Excellent collaboration skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
