Full Job Description Pay:
$55,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year Job description: Job description O&S Associates, Inc. is a full-service Engineering and Architectural Design firm that is recognized for expertise in building restoration and rehabilitation. We are seeking an entry level Structural Engineer to join our Columbus, OH office who is a recent graduate from an accredited University or has up to five years of experience. This position will include working on restoration and/or design projects through all work phases including scope of work and budget development, condition assessment and reporting, studies, production of construction documents (drawings and specifications), and construction administration. Our firm works in many settings including low-rise and high-rise residential buildings, office complexes, retail locations, warehouses, parking garages, healthcare facilities, educational facilities, and government buildings. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required as this position may serve as a Point of Contact with the client. Organizational and time management skills are also essential as this position will require managing multiple concurrent projects.
Responsibilities:
Perform field condition assessments to accurately document existing building conditions Work with Senior Engineer to understand the project's requirements and develop an accurate Scope of work Help in developing condition assessment reports including recommendations for repair or replacement Coordinate with structural, architectural, MEP, and other disciplines if required Develop complete and accurate Construction Drawings in Autocad and technical specifications under supervision of Senior Engineer Perform site observations during construction Review and approve shop drawings, submittals, payment requests, change orders, and RFI's Track the construction schedule and budget
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited University in Civil/Structural Engineering Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment with multiple deadlines Excellent oral and written communication skills Conversant in engineering, architectural, and construction principles Must be comfortable safely performing inspections on roofs, facades, and structures via suspending scaffolds, ladders, aerial manlifts, etc. Proficient in
