This role leads projects from concept through commissioning, managing scope, budget, timelines, and contractors to ensure safe, high-quality, and on-time execution. Projects may include new construction as well as upgrades to mechanical and process systems within an industrial manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Capital Projects & Engineering Execution Oversee capital projects, equipment installations, and machine/maintenance upgrades from planning through startup. Define project scope, specifications, and statements of work (SOW). Manage RFQs, vendor selection, and procurement of equipment and services. Lead installation activities, punch list completion, and commissioning of new or upgraded systems. Track project KPIs, schedules, budgets, and documentation. Manufacturing Systems & Continuous Improvement Support new construction and enhancements to mechanical systems such as screw conveyors, material mixers, kilns, and liquid dosing controls. Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities using lean manufacturing and root cause analysis methodologies. Design and support improvements to material handling and production equipment. Technical Support & Contractor Management Coordinate and manage subcontractors to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and schedule requirements. Provide engineering support for equipment breakdowns, rebuilds, and recurring maintenance issues. Recommend preventive maintenance procedures and spare parts strategies for new equipment. Train maintenance and production teams on new equipment and safe operating practices. Collaboration, Travel & Global Support Work cross-functionally with Maintenance, Production, and other internal teams. Participate in affiliate meetings across multiple time zones (up to four per month). Travel to project sites for equipment installations or site evaluations (up to four times annually). Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field, or equivalent experience. 7+ years of engineering experience in manufacturing or industrial environments; capital project experience preferred. Strong knowledge of industrial equipment, material handling systems, and safety best practices. Experience managing subcontractors and outside vendors. Solid mechanical and electrical design knowledge; CAD proficiency required. Strong troubleshooting skills and a hands-on, practical approach. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Self-driven with the ability to work independently and manage multiple projects. Flexibility to support project schedules as needed. Experience with plant construction, PLCs, HVAC, facilities equipment, or combustion systems is a plus. Work Environment Office-based role with frequent exposure to manufacturing facilities. Conditions may include dusty, hot, or cold environments; PPE required.
