We are expanding our workforce and are looking for a Project Engineer to join our amazing team. In this position, you will coordinate and plan construction projects of fire fighting vehicles from design to building completion. Why Join Team Sutphen? Safety is our priority Family-owned and operated First shift operation High-quality and extremely affordable benefit packages A collaborative and challenging environment fostering high engagement and retention We have fun building the highest quality product that saves lives and property Essential Functions Draft build instructions (build sheets) and as-built drawing of vehicles Check and clarify customer specifications, sales proposals, cost sheets, and addendums for accuracy and discrepancies Order some custom configured items that are purchased on a per-vehicle basis (i.e. water tanks, heavy duty roll-out trays, etc.) Assist purchasing with specifications for purchased parts Assist sales department with technical details for use in bids and create bid drawings of vehicles Coordinate standards for specialty groups (i.e. electrical, plumbing, body, etc.) Maintain knowledge of current construction techniques Effective communication with all departments and customers Place orders timely and effectively to ensure delivery of items are accurate for target completion date Organize projects into tasks and set timeframes Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, plans, and reports Attend regular meetings with engineering team and/or customers Research new product ideas and methods and find creative design solutions to problems Key Qualifications Ability to use SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills Strong time management and analytical skills Ability to work with and on fire trucks in a manufacturing environment Work Environment The employee generally performs the job in an office environment but will be required to visit the production floor from time to time.
Pay:
$55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
