Employment Type Direct Hire Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Project Engineer on behalf of a well-established and highly respected engineering consulting firm in Columbus, Ohio! This is an exciting opportunity for a licensed Professional Engineer to join a collaborative team focused on commercial and mixed-use development projects throughout the region. In this role, you will partner with clients, project managers, and multidisciplinary teams to design and deliver site development projects from concept through construction. The ideal candidate enjoys solving complex engineering challenges, mentoring junior staff, and working directly with clients to bring projects to life. Responsibilities
Lead and contribute to commercial site development projects from planning through construction.
Prepare and review site design plans, grading plans, stormwater management systems, utility layouts, and related civil engineering documents.
Collaborate with internal teams, clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies throughout project lifecycles.
Assist with permitting, entitlement, and regulatory approval processes.
Develop innovative solutions to design and construction challenges.
Mentor and support junior engineers and technical staff.
Maintain project schedules, budgets, and deliverable quality standards.
Participate in client meetings and contribute to long-term client relationships.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in Ohio or ability to obtain through reciprocity.
5+ years of civil engineering experience with a focus on site development or land development projects.
Experience designing commercial, office, healthcare, industrial, retail, or mixed-use developments.
Strong knowledge of site grading, drainage, stormwater management, utilities, and permitting processes.
Preferred Experience
Commercial land development consulting experience.
Experience coordinating with architects, surveyors, landscape architects, and municipalities.
