$110k to $150k (commensurate with experience)
Schedule:
Mon-Thu, 9 hrs in-office

As a company, we are at an inflection point as we are utilizing Artificial Intelligence (AI) to reduce technical risk and accelerate product delivery while preserving the stability and reliability our customers count on. Why This Role Exists This role exists to position the company for future growth and stability. We are hiring an experienced Structural Engineer to:
  • Provide structural engineering services to clients on air-cooled heat exchangers, steel stacks and other process-related equipment.
  • Prepare quotes for engineering services
  • Provide engineering support for software clients as needed
  • Implement AI into engineering services where it makes sense to automate repetition
  • Drive improvements to software applications by providing engineering expertise
  • Improve customer service and interaction for engineering issues
  • Provide leadership in areas of expertise to other members of the team You will initially work alongside the owner and an experienced engineer with deep product knowledge, learning the system and its history while helping reduce single-person risk over time.
We want an engineer who builds on what already works, bringing fresh ideas and using AI to make our engineering services faster and more reliable, without breaking what our customers count on. What Success Looks Like (12 Months In) You will know you are successful when:
  • Able to independently technically evaluate and offer proposals for most engineering projects
  • Proficient at designing air-cooled exchangers, steel stacks and other repetitive equipment
  • You can take high-level tasks and own them through completion
  • Comfortable interacting with clients directly (Phone, Video, email, in person) You are trusted to make thoughtful technical and product decisions Leadership time is freed up because engineering work moves forward without micromanagement Approximate equipment breakdown: Air-cooled exchangers: 60% Steel stacks: 25% Custom requests: 15% What You'll Work On (First 6 Months) Your initial focus will include: Learn company's standards and processes Learn to execute most common air-cooled exchangers and stacks Able to provide engineering proposals for standard projects Approximate task breakdown: Learning company systems: 20% Calculations on engineering projects: 60% Quoting projects and communication with clients: 20% How the

You will learn about our system of quoting and executing projects.
As you ramp up:
You will take on projects which are within your area of expertise and competency.

Help lead improvements and changes to increase efficiency and profitability of the company and free up time for the owner to focus on strategic growth. Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, preferably Civil or Structural 5+ years of structural engineering experience Strong computer skills Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Meticulous attention to detail Strong ownership mindset Additional Desired Qualifications Experience with StaadPro, IDEA StatiCa, PRG Software, Autodesk Inventor Comfortable using AI as a tool and resource Vibration damper design PE or SE License How We Work Very independent, with interaction with coworkers on an as needed basis Very little bureaucracy and few meetings Adopting Artificial Intelligence (AI) into the business wherever it makes sense Clear expectations, trust, and autonomy A strong culture of documentation and shared understanding Growth & Retention This is a long-term role.
