NWEG provides foundation design, geotechnical engineering, and residential consulting services in Oregon and Washington. Candidates should have EIT certification and be working toward PE licensure. NWEG will give special consideration to qualified candidates with a background in foundation design. We are willing to train the right candidate who is willing and eager to learn about different foundation systems and soil investigations. A relocation package is available.
Position Description:
This position is ideal for someone who has worked in the field and is confident in leading complex engineering tasks, including advanced project planning and technical calculations. The EIT will provide engineering services that may include performing and/or leading field inspections, testing, engineering analyses, calculations, and design of deep foundation systems, including plans and specifications, as well as preparing, writing, and reviewing related reports. Apply sound engineering principles to all work. Strong written and spoken communication skills are required for this position, and the engineer must be able to communicate complex engineering issues and concepts to both technical and non-technical clients.
Job Responsibilities:
Review construction drawings and provide clarifications to RFIs, Addendums, etc., to ensure the successful completion of projects Assist in the preparation of shop drawings, plans, specifications, and other project-related documents Analyze data and perform engineering calculations and analysis for PE review Make design recommendations, adaptations, and modifications for review Interacts with the client and project team in developing the scope of services and communicating project progress Ability to provide technical presentations Use of Excel, Word, AutoCAD, Engineering software, etc. Analysis and design of deep foundations for residential and commercial structures Furnish structural inspection reports based on visual inspections of buildings
Education/Experience Requirements:
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree in civil engineering
- Passed EIT examination
- Sound technical drawing skills, preferably in AutoCAD
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, AutoCAD, Engineering software, etc.
- Full-time in-house office hours; Eugene, Oregon
- Ability to travel, including overnight stays up to 10% of the time
- Experience in construction is a plus
- Physical ability to inspect crawlspaces and walk on sloped ground
- Clean driving record
Benefits & Compensation:
Salary Range is $75,000 - $90,000 based on experience
