Job Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare site layouts, grading plans, utility designs, and drainage systems for a variety of utility, land development, public works, and transportation projects. Perform engineering calculations and analysis to support design decisions. Ensure project timelines, budgets, and deliverables are met in collaboration with project managers. Coordinate with internal teams, clients, and local agencies to ensure project requirements are met. Review and interpret survey reports, maps, and as-built drawings. Assist in the preparation of technical reports and cost estimates. Stay current with industry standards, best practices, and regulatory requirements.Minimum Qualifications:
0-2 years of relevant experience Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program EIT Certification or ability to sit for the exam within 12 months of hire Aptitude and demonstrated hands-on experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, with the ability to organize, analyze, and present data using spreadsheets, formulas, and basic functions Excellent written and verbal communication and customer service skills Preferred Qualifications Experience on natural gas projects, including pipeline systems, and distribution networks Experience on utility projects, including utility layout and design and preparation of plans and specifications for construction Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage tasks with minimal supervision Quick learner with the ability to adapt to new tools and processes Receptive to training and feedback, with a strong willingness to continuously improve Self-starter who takes initiative, shows ownership of responsibilities, and proactively seeks solutions Why Join MacKay? The wage range for this position depends on experience and placement into a Civil Engineer I - Civil Engineer IV title. Full-time employees receive a well-rounded benefit package including access to our company-sponsored Medical (including an HSA High Deductible option), Dental, Vision, FSA, and Supplemental Life Insurance plans. We also offer 100% company-paid Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, and Long-Term Disability coverage. Employees are eligible to participate in our company's 401(k) plan with up to a 4% match.
