Job Description

Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for a Commercial Building Engineer located in downtown Portland, OR. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and repair of high-rise commercial buildings, The role has wide ranging responsibilities, including low/medium voltage power, HVAC system and controls, mechanical system troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, emergency response, general maintenance, light carpentry, plumbing system, and vendor management. Qualifications Experience in Building Maintenance and Facility Management (FM) Skill in Plumbing and Preventive Maintenance Expertise in Maintenance & Repair tasks Ability to collaborate effectively with building staff and tenants Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Excellent time management and ability to prioritize tasks Relevant certifications or licenses in building systems, plumbing, or HVAC operations are a plus High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training is preferred Essential Functions Follows all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency, and Company directives related to building operations and work safety. Inspects building systems including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing to ensure operation of equipment is within design capabilities and achieves environmental conditions prescribed by client. Conducts preventative maintenance on building equipment. Overseas and inspects the work performed by outside contractors. Contracted work may include landscaping, snow removal, remodeling, HVAC, plumbing, and cleaning. Performs assigned repairs, emergency, and preventive maintenance. Completes maintenance and repair records as needed. Reviews assigned work orders. Estimates time and materials needed to complete repair. Orders necessary materials and supplies to complete all tasks. Maintains an energy management program to ensure measures are taken to operate all systems in the most efficient manner to keep operating costs at a minimum. Maintains the building lighting system, including element and ballast repairs or replacements. Performs carpentry, furniture assembly and locksmith tasks as needed. Respond quickly to emergency situations, enlisting additional assistance as needed. Maintain good housekeeping and safety of work areas. Recognize danger and safety hazards; propose methods to eliminate them. Performs other duties as assigned.   • 4:00 pm Must live in Oregon or Washington (for payroll purposes). Starting Pay is $32
  • $40 per hour DOE Full benefits on the 1st of the month following 30 days of employment.
