Job Description
Lead Civil Site Engineer Overview We are seeking an experienced and driven Lead Civil Site Engineer to oversee the planning, design, and execution of a diverse portfolio of land development and infrastructure projects. This leadership role requires strong technical expertise, project oversight, and the ability to guide multidisciplinary teams through all phases of project delivery—from initial concept through construction. The ideal candidate brings a balance of hands-on design experience, client-facing communication, and team leadership, with a focus on delivering high-quality, sustainable, and community-focused site development solutions. Key Responsibilities Lead site design efforts including grading, drainage, stormwater management, and utility layout for residential, commercial, and public infrastructure projects. Manage and oversee project teams, ensuring quality, accuracy, and timely delivery of design documents and engineering solutions. Conduct site feasibility studies, due diligence evaluations, and technical analysis to support project planning and development. Develop and review conceptual site plans, detailed construction drawings, and technical specifications. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and design staff. Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, municipalities, and project stakeholders. Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including planners, architects, and environmental professionals. Lead project meetings, presentations, and public engagements as needed. Oversee permitting processes and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Prepare and review technical reports, proposals, and project documentation. Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field. Professional Engineer (PE) license required (or ability to obtain shortly). 3+ years of experience in civil site design, land development, or related projects.
Technical Expertise:
Site design, grading, and drainage Stormwater management and erosion control Utility design and infrastructure layout AutoCAD Civil 3D (required) Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, and/or ArcGIS is a plus Strong leadership, project management, and client-facing communication skills. Proven ability to manage multiple projects and mentor engineering staff. Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
