JOB SUMMARY
Join the Engineering Analysis group at
KRATOS C5ISR.
Here we develop modular shelter systems for military applications, as well as the associated ground support equipment. The role will be to utilize engineering analysis from hand calculations to simulation tools to drive to a successful design that our customers can have confidence will work as intended out-of-the-box. This will include modifying previous shelter designs or starting from a blank sheet. The day may include load development, finite element analysis (FEA), sizing, dynamic evaluations, and thermal calculations. This position may be filled at multiple levels depending on the applicantis experience level.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Acts as the Structural Analysis Engineer for simple and complex projects as assigned. Manages effort and time within the budget and schedule provided for the task. Understands customer requirements and prepares designs in accordance with customer and derived requirements. Prepares formal, controlled engineering documentation (i.e. analysis reports, analysis procedures, etc.). Prepares and presents design review material in support of technical interchange meetings with suppliers and external/internal customers. Ensures customer satisfaction in relation to projects. Supports system testing, trouble shooting, and problem resolution. Supports customer testing, data reduction, analysis, and reporting. Works with test engineers to validate models within test plans and reports. Follows safety precautions. Ensures that the work area and equipment are kept clean. Complies with established quality management system (QMS) procedures. Supports business development efforts both in preparation of quotes and proposals as well as sales efforts, as assigned. Other duties may be assigned.

Required Experience:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information as required by government standards. Ability to interact effectively with peers and supervisors. Ability to interact appropriately with the public when necessary. Ability to effectively communicate professionally in writing or verbally with all levels of personnel. Ability to adhere to workplace rules. Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance at the appropriate level (requires U.S. Citizenship).
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
BS degree or higher in Engineering field; Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering preferred. Proficiency with classical stress analysis is required. Minimum of one (1) year of experience with FEA is required (ANSYS preferred). Familiarity with the Defense industry is preferred for Early Career; required for Mid-Career applicants. Demonstrated passion for customer satisfaction. Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally to meet program requirements. Candidates should have experience in one or more of the following areas of analysis: Vibration (Cyclic or Random) Shock Modal Thermal (hand calculations, FEA, or CFD) Composite materials Test design and correlating models to data Fatigue Environmental Control Units (ECU)
WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Office, manufacturing, or field environments. Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time. Ability to perform repetitive motion (computer usage). Ability to lift up to 25 pounds. Frequent outside contact with customers and suppliers. May travel to support new business development and customer maintenance.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Yes, as required 5-10% may be required occasionally.
