Ideas become reality in our on-site fabrication shop, allowing employees to see every step of our product development from design through shipping. We are seeking a Sr. Mechanical Engineer who will be responsible for the design, evaluation, and testing of structural systems and components to ensure they meet established performance requirements. This role also develops appropriate design specifications, calculations, test plans, mechanical drawings, and reports. Strong collaboration across all company departments is a key requirement of this role. The candidate should be an individual with a curious mind and a desire to be part of the continuous evolution and improvement of our growing company. Primary Job Functions Designs complex electromechanical systems and components as part of new product development and existing product support Performs technical and mathematical computations to calculate structural requirements of new material handling and fall protection systems. Responds to project inquiries for calculations Creates and maintains bills of material (BOMs) within the company's ERP system Works with Sales and Marketing to develop and document new product requirements Collaborates with Production and Purchasing teams to perform Design for Manufacturing (DFM) of new product designs Performs required prototyping and validation testing Works with Marketing to develop new product manuals Mentors and trains engineers and technical specialists on product design requirements and constraints Identifies and drives continuous improvement and cost-reduction initiatives related to company products and processes Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Structural Engineering 7+ years of Engineering experience, preferably in industrial products General engineering and architectural drafting techniques, terminology, methods, and practices Strong problem-solving ability Electromechanical product knowledge Proficiency with CAD software Exceptional organization skills Proven experience mentoring other engineers Customer service focus Required Testing Mechanical Aptitude testing required Personality testing required Certifications Professional Engineering license strongly preferred Physical Requirements The position requires sitting for extended periods of time, occasionally talking to vendors and customers on the phone, and occasional trips into the factory to discuss components or projects with shop personnel.
