🌎 Civil Engineer 100% Remote Opportunity | Work from Home ⚡ Shape the Future of Clean Energy We're looking for a Civil Engineer who is passionate about renewable energy and ready to play a key role in designing distributed solar and battery storage projects (2-20 MW) across the U.S. In this fully remote role, you'll be hands-on from early feasibility through construction support , helping bring impactful, carbon-reducing energy projects to life. If you're excited by innovation, collaboration, and seeing your designs turn into real-world infrastructure—this is your opportunity. 🚀 What You'll Do Lead civil engineering design and scope development for distributed solar + storage projects Evaluate site feasibility including grading, drainage, stormwater, hydrology, geotechnical conditions, and site access Develop and refine site layouts and grading plans to maximize constructability, performance, and cost-efficiency Design drainage and stormwater management systems aligned with regulatory requirements and long-term site performance Plan and design access roads and utility routing for safe, efficient project execution Support foundation design for PV arrays and battery energy storage systems (BESS) Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, development, construction, and external partners Manage multiple projects simultaneously (typically 4-6 at a time) while maintaining high-quality deliverables Contribute to design reviews, best practices, and continuous improvement initiatives Communicate regularly with internal teams to keep projects aligned and moving forward ✅ Qualifications (Must-Haves) Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (ABET-accredited) 5+ years of civil engineering experience in land development, solar, or transmission/distribution Strong proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D Experience with: Site layout & grading design Drainage and stormwater systems Road/access design Ability to evaluate site feasibility across civil disciplines (grading, drainage, hydrology, geotechnical, access) Strong multitasking ability across multiple active projects Excellent communication and collaboration skills in a remote environment Must reside in one of the following states: Illinois Virginia Minnesota Pennsylvania EIT or equivalent foundational engineering experience ⭐ Preferred Experience Civil design experience in renewable energy (solar, wind, or storage) Background in transmission or distribution projects Familiarity with land development processes for large-scale or distributed energy projects Experience working across the full project lifecycle Interest in growing within renewable energy and expanding technical expertise 🌱 Why This Role Stands Out 100% remote flexibility - work from anywhere within approved states High-impact work supporting the transition to clean energy Exposure to the full project lifecycle —not just one phase Join a tight-knit, collaborative team where your work is highly visible Strong focus on mentorship, training, and career growth in renewable energy Opportunity to grow into more senior or specialized roles over time 🤝 Work Environment You'll be part of a small, highly collaborative civil/structural team where communication, support, and knowledge sharing are key. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Duluth, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.87 - $55.29/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
