Job Title:
Civil Engineer Job Description This role focuses on performing civil site design for a variety of projects, with an emphasis on storm water management, utility routing, site layout, and permitting. The Civil Engineer interprets and applies building codes, reviews and understands construction drawings, and clearly communicates civil and site design concepts through AutoCAD Civil 3D drawings. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to high-quality design work while collaborating in a creative and fun professional environment. Responsibilities Perform site design for projects, including storm water management systems, utility routing, site layout, and permitting activities. Interpret, apply, and ensure compliance with applicable building codes in all civil and site design work. Read, understand, and review construction drawings to support accurate and constructible designs. Develop, modify, and communicate civil and site design plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D. Prepare and maintain design documentation and drawings that clearly convey project intent to stakeholders. Collaborate with project teams to coordinate civil design with other disciplines and project requirements. Apply strong attention to detail to verify design accuracy, consistency, and adherence to standards. Manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining high-quality work. Use Microsoft Office tools to prepare reports, calculations, schedules, and supporting documentation. Essential Skills Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution. Professional Engineer (PE) licensure or the ability and intent to obtain PE licensure. Engineer-in-Training (EIT) credential or progress toward EIT certification. Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D for civil and site design. Demonstrated experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D in a professional or academic setting. Solid understanding of civil engineering principles related to storm water management, utility routing, site layout, and permitting. Ability to read, interpret, and apply building codes and construction drawings. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications for documentation, analysis, and communication. Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy and quality in design work. Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects or responsibilities concurrently. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience communicating design concepts through clear and well-organized drawings and documentation. Ability to work effectively in a creative, collaborative, and fun professional environment. Strong organizational skills to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently. Effective written and verbal communication skills for coordination with project stakeholders. Commitment to ongoing professional development and advancement in civil engineering practice. Work Environment This role operates in a remote work environment, providing flexibility in work location while maintaining strong collaboration with project teams through digital communication and design tools. The position emphasizes the use of AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office in a virtual setting, supporting a creative and fun culture that values high-quality design work and professional growth. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Louisville, KY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $130000.00/yr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
