Job Description

Our client in Federal Way, WA location is currently hiring a Civil Project Engineer to support large community developments, residential land development, and commercial projects throughout the Puget Sound area. This opportunity is ideal for a civil engineer with land development experience who is looking to grow technically while working toward future project management responsibilities. The position is primarily office-based with flexibility and the potential to work toward a hybrid schedule. Pay

  • $55.00/hr (Depending on years of experience, tenure, software proficiency, and relevant project experience) Location

  • Contract to Hire (12 months) Responsibilities
  • Support and lead civil design engineering for land development projects including residential subdivisions, commercial developments, and large community projects.
  • Prepare site layouts, grading plans, drainage plans, and utility designs in compliance with project requirements and local regulations.
  • Develop and review civil site development plans including stormwater management and wastewater systems.
  • Produce detailed engineering drawings and design documents using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
  • Coordinate grading, utilities, stormwater, and site access designs to ensure constructability and regulatory compliance.
  • Apply a strong understanding of Washington stormwater requirements in design and documentation.
  • Assist with technical reports, calculations, and materials required for permitting and approvals.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers, designers, and project managers to deliver integrated design solutions.
  • Participate in project meetings and contribute to schedules, design decisions, and overall project planning.
  • Support project managers and engineers to deliver projects on time and within scope.
  • Develop skills related to project management, including coordination, scheduling, and client interaction. Qualification Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required.
  • 3-8 years of experience supporting civil engineering for land development projects.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
  • Strong experience with site layout, grading, stormwater, and utilities design.
  • Experience with residential subdivisions and commercial site development.
  • Knowledge of Washington state and local stormwater requirements.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Interest in long-term professional growth and future project management responsibilities. Disqualifiers
  • No land development or civil site design experience.
  • No AutoCAD or Civil 3D experience.
  • No experience with grading, stormwater, or utilities design.
  • No EIT certification.
  • Less than 3 years of relevant civil engineering experience. Employee Value Proposition

  • $55.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
