Job Title:
Civil Engineer Job Description We are seeking a talented Civil Engineer to design and prepare engineering documents for various design components of projects. This includes stormwater management design, sediment erosion control, storm drain design and computations, WSSC water and sewer design, grade establishment plans, maintenance of traffic plans, and right-of-way improvement plans. The candidate will manage standard to routine design tasks, perform technical calculations, and supervise the work of Design Engineers and Technicians. The role requires coordinating efforts with clients, agencies, and various departments, as well as working independently to achieve results. Responsibilities Design and prepare engineering documents for specific project components. Manage and perform technical calculations and standard design tasks. Supervise, coordinate, and review the work of Design Engineers and Technicians. Work independently on assignments to generate expected results. Coordinate efforts with clients, agencies, various departments, and other consultants. Essential Skills Proficiency in Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite. At least 3 years of experience working with Civil 3D on Land Development Projects. Technical proficiency in civil engineering aspects such as roadways, grading, stormwater management design, and more. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications BS degree in Civil Engineering. Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in Civil Engineering. Licensed Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or working towards it within the next year preferred. Aspirations to transition into project management. Work Environment The work environment is collaborative, with a close-knit team that enjoys company outings. The company has been established for over 50 years and has a reputable standing. The team works on diverse projects including K-12, light commercial, and industrial. You will have the option to work 3 days in the office of your choice, pending approval. Offices are located in DC, NOVA, and Germantown, with the MD office being the first established. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Germantown, MD. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $60.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
