Job Description

Job Title:
Civil Engineer IIIJob Description We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer III who will be responsible for preparing and checking civil calculations, sketches, drawings, specifications, and other civil engineering deliverables. The ideal candidate will provide technical guidance for assigned projects, including construction administration, and develop and monitor project scopes and schedules. You will coordinate work with various disciplines, departments, and entities, ensuring that design work and documents are correct, consistent with applicable codes, logically presented, and constructible. Responsibilities + Prepare and check civil calculations, sketches, drawings, and specifications. + Provide technical guidance for project portions including construction administration. + Develop and monitor project scopes and schedules for applicable disciplines. + Identify and manage changes in project scope and impact. + Coordinate work with other disciplines, departments, construction teams, permitting agencies, vendors, subcontractors, and clients. + Ensure design work and documents are accurate, consistent with codes, and constructible. Essential Skills + Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D. + Strong organizational skills for managing multiple projects. + Experience in effective project execution and procedures. + Understanding of zoning, wetland, local, state, or federal agency requirements. + Ability to supervise and lead project completion. + Effective verbal and written communication skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications + BS Degree in Civil Engineering required. + 8+ years of engineering experience. + Professional Engineer registration preferred. + Eligibility to obtain a security clearance. + Proficiency using Microsoft Office suite applications. + Ability to work in Bluebeam, hydracad, and hydraflow for storm and sanitary analysis. Work Environment The role requires a great attitude and teamwork skills. Successful candidates will undergo a background screening process. Proficiency in software packages such as IBC, ASCE, Microstation, and familiarity with site design, development, and storm water management is beneficial. The work environment supports professional growth and requires effective communication of complex technical solutions. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Charlotte, NC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $63.00 - $65.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
