This role involves leading and supporting industrial projects, including structural design, analysis, cost estimating, and construction support. Candidates should have 8+ years of experience, a bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (ABET-accredited), and preferably a Professional Engineer (PE) license. Strong knowledge of industry codes (IBC, AISC, ASCE, ACI), experience with structural analysis software such as RISA, and proficiency in CAD are highly desired. This position is primarily onsite at the client location, with some remote flexibility, and requires travel as needed. Essential Functions Lead and support civil/structural engineering efforts on industrial projects of varying size and complexity, including work in chemical processing environments. Develop preliminary designs, conceptual layouts, cost estimates, and material take-offs. Assemble and review bid packages and provide field and construction support. Supervise engineering staff and review calculations for code compliance and quality. Drive quality initiatives, process improvements, and continuous improvement efforts. Performs other related duties as assigned. Skills & Qualifications Strong knowledge of applicable engineering codes (IBC, AISC, ASCE, ACI). Proficiency in RISA (or similar analysis software), CAD, and Microsoft Office. Ability to perform design analysis, cost studies, and technical reviews. Leadership, project coordination, and problem-solving capabilities. Effective communication and organizational skills. Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (ABET-accredited). 6-8+ years of relevant experience (8+ preferred). Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred. Experience as a Project Manager or CSA lead on capital projects preferred. Ability to work onsite in Mobile, Alabama, supporting our client, with remote capability and travel as needed. Availability for a 40-hour workweek with potential overtime. Must be able to pass an approved background check. Must be able to pass a drug and alcohol test. Must participate in random drug tests. Must not require sponsorship. Work Environment & Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Work assignment inside an operating plant which requires normal hearing, the ability to stand, walk, reach, climb and balance, clear close and distance vision, depth perception and the ability to focus. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboard. Must be able to bend, stoop and climb on a ladder or up and down stairs. Must be able to drive a company vehicle to and from job sites or office locations. Must be able to attend job walks wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) in an operating facility in a hot climate. Lifting up to 25 pounds may be required.
