Recent graduates ( Dec 2025 - May 2026 ) preferred. About Us We are a leading Structural/Consulting Engineering firm in NJ, NY, PA and CT. Businesses and residential clients alike have relied upon Lahita Engineering for solutions to the most complex and challenging Structural/Civil Engineering problems. From the initial concept to the final stage of completion, the engineering team at Lahita Engineering is relentless in their efforts to ensure satisfaction. We provide integrated design and construction solutions for a broad range of public and private sector clients. Responsibilities Perform a wide range of structural engineering analysis and design tasks while following current engineering standards, codes, and regulations. Research and apply code provisions to design. Perform steel, concrete, and timber design. Perform superstructure and substructure design. Conduct field inspections and surveys in support of design and construction efforts. Investigations will require you to obtain measurements, photographs, videos, and take detailed notes. This will require travel to and from sites. Write technical reports documenting observations from field inspections that include analysis, evaluation, and interpretation of findings. Prepare data and visualizations such as charts, tables, reports, sketches, calculations, and illustrations for the interpretation or presentation of data. Perform site inspections for work engineered by our office. Assist and complete design calculations, analysis, and drawings. Provide responses and solutions to issues during the construction phase of projects. Work as an individual and/or coordinate work with other engineering staff. Utilize a broad assortment of skills on projects that range from small residential projects to large scale projects. Perform load tests on piles as instructed by this office. Perform total station monitoring. Exercise responsible and ethical time management to complete projects within their allocated budgets. Conduct engineering studies and surveys to gain further information on a particular design and construction problem or issue and/or to plan for future needs. Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs. Required Qualifications B.S. in Structural or Civil Engineering E.I.T. Certification or ability to obtain in 6 months upon hire. Knowledge of structural engineering principles, practices, processes, and design/build. Understanding and application of code requirements. Strong verbal and written communication skills to both an engineering and non-engineering audience. Time management. Ability to multi-task, handle multiple projects, and meet deadlines. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic work environment. Strong Microsoft Excel and Word skills. Strong AutoCAD skills. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Attention to detail. Desire to work collaboratively in a team environment. Ability to learn new techniques, follow instruction, work independently. Ability and desire to learn and grow professionally. Preferred Qualifications 0-3 years of related experience (internship experience included). Experience using RISA analysis software. Experience using DeepEx and DeepFND software. Experience in total station monitoring.
Compensation and Benefits Compensation:
$62,000 - $72,000 (commensurate with experience). Overtime compensation for hours worked over the 40 billable hours.
