Geotechnical Division Lead - Hybrid (3+ Days In-Office)Confidential Opportunity | High Priority Hire We're partnering with a well-established, multi-office engineering firm to hire a Geotechnical Lead Engineer who can start, formalize, and grow a geotechnical division spanning multiple offices. This is a highly visible role for a senior geotechnical professional ready to shape standards, mentor teams, and elevate geotechnical services across the business.
The OpportunityYou'll serve as the go-to geotechnical leader company-wide, establishing a formal geotechnical program while supporting existing client relationships and internal teams across three office locations. This role suits a seasoned technical leader-or a strong "step-up" candidate-who has led investigations and wants broader ownership.
What You'll DoBuild and lead a geotechnical service line across three offices, including delivery standards, QA/QC practices, and internal workflows.
Lead geotechnical investigations from scoping through execution, reporting, and construction support.
Deliver practical analyses and recommendations, including slope stability and settlement analysis, with a field-informed approach.
Be client-facing: support existing geotechnical clients, help expand relationships, and act as the internal trusted advisor.
Support growth via proposal input, project setup, and budget awareness (preferred).What We're Looking For (Must-Haves)BS in Civil Engineering or related with a geotechnical focus (MS strongly preferred/expected).Demonstrated experience leading geotechnical investigations and acting as a technical lead (not solely an individual contributor).Strong applied geotechnical judgement-practical, constructible recommendations (not purely academic).Strongly PreferredPrior experience establishing or managing a geotechnical program/service line.
Proposal development, project setup, and budgeting exposure.
Ambition and willingness to engage in business development (deep BD track record not required).Some civil/site engineering experience to support broader teams as needed.
Work Model / LocationHybrid schedule: minimum 3 days per week in-office.
Must be able to work from one of three offices.
Fully remote is not available.
