This role is ideal for an experienced Florida-licensed P.E. who operates independently or owns their own engineering practice and is interested in establishing a long-term professional relationship with a growing South Florida firm. The selected engineer will work closely with our team by reviewing structural designs, performing structural calculations as needed, and signing/sealing construction documents for permitting and construction.

Projects primarily include:

Residential additions and renovations Custom single-family homes Low- to mid-rise commercial and multifamily projects Miscellaneous structural modifications and specialty designs This is a flexible, remote-friendly contractor role with workload varying based on active projects. Responsibilities Review structural drawings and engineering designs prepared by our team Perform structural analysis and calculations as required Provide signed and sealed structural drawings and calculations for permitting Coordinate with architects, contractors, and project teams as needed Assist with permit comments and engineering revisions Maintain compliance with Florida Building Code and applicable standards Requirements Active Florida Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering Strong knowledge of structural systems including concrete, steel, wood, and masonry Experience with residential and commercial structural design in Florida Ability to work independently and communicate effectively Prior experience with permitting processes in South Florida preferred Preferred Qualifications Existing independent engineering practice or consulting experience Familiarity with high-wind design and Florida code requirements Experience coordinating directly with architects and contractors Compensation Compensation will be structured on a per-project basis and will vary depending on project scope, complexity, and level of involvement required.
