Job Description
Position OverviewA well‑established power and energy services organization is seeking a Project Engineer to act as the technical lead on power generation-related projects, supporting engineering execution from early design through construction and commissioning.
This role is intended for a hands‑on engineer who works closely with project managers, planners, subcontractors, and design teams, ensuring projects meet all contractual requirements, codes, and schedules.
Location (On‑Site Only)Marlborough, MassachusettsHouston, TexasThis is a fully on‑site position. Remote or hybrid work is not available.
Key ResponsibilitiesServe as the engineering lead for assigned power generation projectsCoordinate and manage technical activities across multiple engineering disciplinesPlan, monitor, and execute engineering scope, including schedules and deliverablesEnsure technical accuracy and on‑time completion of documents such as:
RFQs and equipment specificationsDesign packages and construction documentsCommissioning procedures and acceptance test plansO&M manuals and technical reportsMaintain and manage engineering workflows using document management systems (e.g., RFIs, NCRs)Act as the primary technical interface with clients, engineering consultants, subcontractors, and major suppliersLead and participate in technical meetings to resolve design, scope, and execution issuesCoordinate engineering subcontractors and track receipt and quality of technical deliverablesSupport project schedule development and execution in alignment with budget and contract requirementsTrack engineering hours and flag technical, schedule, or execution risks earlyPrepare technical correspondence, reports, and presentations as requiredRequired QualificationsEducation & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Engineering requiredExperience serving as a Project Engineer or Engineering Lead on power generation or large industrial energy projectsBackground in design‑build or EPC project environments preferredExperience coordinating engineering efforts across internal teams and external partnersProficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPointFamiliarity with Primavera P6 or similar scheduling tools preferredLicenses & Certifications (Preferred)Professional Engineer (PE) license preferredPMP certification a plusWork EnvironmentFully on‑site role requiring daily presence in the office and coordination with field teamsHands‑on involvement with engineering execution and project teamsCompensationBase salary range: $80,000 - $180,000, depending on experience, education, certifications, and overall fit
