This position is for a senior engineer that will lead and manage the site design through all phases of a project. Given SMMA's integrated and multidisciplinary composition, the role affords a chance to coordinate and work closely with staff across numerous areas of design expertise and provides exposure to a variety of project and client types. The candidate will be active throughout projects' full lifecycles, from concept design to final construction documents, and during construction administration. The position includes environmental permitting applications and processes at federal, state, and local levels. We offer a fast-paced, team-oriented environment that promotes intellectual and creative growth. This position may be based in our Cambridge, MA; Providence, RI; or Manchester, NH office.
Key Responsibilities:
Leading the development of site plans for a variety of land-development and building projects Leading the design of stormwater management and utility systems Leading the preparation of site permitting applications and supporting reports Responsible for issuing project documents for construction Overseeing and participating in construction administration activities Managing and mentoring project staff Preparation of proposals for site-lead projects, or assist in the preparation of other interdisciplinary proposals Perform internal quality review of documents for a variety of interdisciplinary projects
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering 12+ years' experience Registration as a Professional Engineer Experience with a variety of design software and programs (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Hydrocad) as well as Microsoft Office Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required About SMMA 70 years ago, SMMA pioneered an approach that integrates architecture, engineering, interior design, and planning to turn the most tangled design problems into refined and unexpected answers. The approximate pay range for Cambridge, MA is $100,000 - $130,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting.
