Company Overview:
Athena Engineering and Environmental, LLC (Athena), headquartered just outside of exciting Nashville, TN, is a dynamic woman-owned small business consulting firm that delivers geotechnical, environmental, ecological, water resources, surveying, and value engineering services. We partner with clients nationwide in the government (federal, state, and local), transportation, energy, industrial, water, and commercial sectors to tackle their most critical infrastructure challenges. We are currently seeking an experienced geotechnical engineer to add to our growing geotechnical team. The senior engineer should be capable of overseeing and directing geotechnical investigations for a variety of structures with limited oversight. Job duties will include but are not limited to the following environmental investigation activities: Execute geotechnical investigations of basic and moderate size and complexity Coordination and management of geotechnical field explorations Assign geotechnical laboratory tests and review results Independently perform geotechnical analyses including shallow foundation bearing capacity and settlement, deep foundation capacities (drilled shafts, auger cast piles, driven piles, etc.), and slope stability Prepare geotechnical reports and proposals under limited guidance and supervision of senior engineer Project management of geotechnical projects
Education Required:
Bachelor's degree in Civil or Geological Engineering from a four year accredited college or university is required
Qualifications:
10 to 15 years of experience preferred Professional Engineer (PE) licensure in Tennessee or ability to obtain within three months Strong writing and communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office (i.e., Word and Excel), GeoStudio, and LPILE software Routine lifting of up to 50 pounds
