Examples of Duties Deliver Capital Improvement Projects with a primary focus on the Transportation System, but may also work on Parks, Stormwater, Sanitary Sewer, Water, and Facility CIP projects. Convey technical transportation and traffic engineering subject matter effectively to non-technical audiences, such as community members, City Council, committees, and non-engineering staff. Provide guidance to Project Coordinator responding to customer requests and traffic concerns related to traffic operations, safety, crosswalks, bicycle and pedestrian facilities, visibility, parking, speeding, and street lighting. Work closely with Street Maintenance Division for ongoing programs, traffic operations and safety issues, as well as maintenance needs. Perform traffic studies and complete plan review for private development permitting for transportation topics. Assist with transportation programs, such as safe streets and neighborhood traffic calming. Collaborate with the Community Development team on transportation planning projects. Serve as a partner to other agencies such as ODOT/Washington County. Please review the Senior Project Engineer classification for additional details.
Minimum Qualifications Education and Experience:
Any combination of training and experience, which would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be: Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in civil engineering or a related engineering field; AND Four (4) years of increasingly responsible experience in project management and professional engineering and infrastructure planning, design, plan review, permitting, and project administration experience. Licenses and Certifications Possession of a valid driver's license and satisfactory driving history. Possession of, or ability to obtain within six (6) months of appointment, a Registration as a Professional Civil Engineer license to practice in the State of Oregon.

Schedule:
40 hours per week. Tigard is a progressive employer with a 4-day work (Monday-Thursday) week. Work schedule includes a combination of office and off-site meetings (some evenings) There is an opportunity for remote work up to 1 day per week.
